Mila Fair Clothings Pvt Ltd

SOCIAL, ETHICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC IMPACT AND
THUS HUMAN IMPACT

Transparent Supply Chain

Mila has created and works with a dedicated supply chain which is very transparent. Every company in this chain is audited and certified by GOTS and FLO Fairtrade.

Ethically Produced

The products you buy are made ethically and in a worker friendly environment. This translates to workers having access to personal safety equipment, medical needs via Employees State Insurance, retirement & pension funds via Employees Pension Fund and all personal rights provided by the Constitution of India. Above this, we provide workers a living wage, which is far above the minimum wage as set by the government.

Socially Committed

We are committed socially and have welfare measures as stated by the law of the land. Employees are given 1 day off every week in addition to 9 national holidays and 1 day paid casual leave for every 20 days worked. Workers are entitled to an annual bonus at the time of Diwali (Oct/Nov).

Special Care for our People

Interest free loans are extended to our workers to buy land and build their own houses. Additionally, we provide interest free emergency funds to our workers family for expenses like marriage, education and medical needs.

Cotton/Yarn Sourcing

We source cotton/yarn only from GOTS/FLO Fairtrade certified farms and mills. These standards make sure through regular auditing that the farmers get the premium amount set by FLO Fairtrade. We also visit farms regularly as a part of this process internally.

Eco Friendly

Every step in the process of making a garment is eco-friendly. The dyeing process is done with a ‘Zero Liquid Discharge’ system and 95% of the water is retrieved by the Effluent Treatment Plant installed in our fabric dyeing unit and reused for dyeing again. 5% of the water is evaporated and the remaining sludge is used to make bricks, laying roads and is also bought by cement factories to use as fillers.

Committed to Consistent Quality & On Time Delivery

Our specialists are the guarantors that you will be delivered a superior quality order.

We set up long-lasting, trustworthy relationships with our supply chain partners - in spinning, knitting, dyeing etc.

You may only have one contact - Mila - but you can be sure to have all the specialists at hand that you need for realizing your projects.

We don’t follow AQL Standards but we do 100% inspection of garments in-house. That means each and every garment is inspected by hand with the aim to achieve the highest quality in the industry.

Our products are manufactured using eco-friendly and sustainable production processes - ensuring everyone involved in their making, i.e. farmers, workers, etc., gets a fair price for their produce. In turn, our customers are purchasing products that are eco-friendly whilst also being of a superior quality. It is our constant endeavour to keep the environment in mind while carrying out our activities.

The workflow is focused on a small CO2 footprint. This not only helps the environment but also reduces overhead cost.

Mila is happy to work with you- we find solutions for very small (starting from 50/100 pcs ) to very large orders.

Mission

Organic & Fairtrade Cotton Delivers Proven Benefits for People and The Environment - When It Comes to Sustainability Claims You Can Trust, Nothing Beats It.

NO GMO Seeds

Organic cotton production never uses GM seed. Non GMO seeds allows farmers to work within their limits and environment, in a sustainable way.

Eliminate hazardous synthetic pesticides

Organic cotton doesn't use dangerous pesticides, protecting farmers' lives and the environment

Saves precious water

Organic farms uses less water, preserving a scarce and precious resource for the future

Helps combat climate change

Organic cotton farming uses less energy. Healthy organic soils store more carbon, removing CO2 from the atmosphere.

Fair Prices for Farmers & Workers

Using fairtrade principles, organic cotton farmers are paid a fair price for their produce

Fairtrade

High subsidies in western countries keep cotton prices often below production cost. To improve the situation for the cotton farmers in India, the Fairtrade organisation sets a minimum price that covers the costs and living expenses of the rural farmers.

On top they add a premium for improving the life of the farmers community.

The guidelines for Fairtrade are checked regularly by FLO. If you are buying Fairtrade certified cotton you pay a premium, but you also get something back: handpicked cotton from above average quality - Fairtrade you can feel! When do you start making the world ‘more fair’?

Organic Cotton

Our certified Fairtade-cotton is also GOTS-certified organic cotton.

This results in an additionally increased quality of raw cotton.

For the end customer this is even more important: they are wearing apparel containing less chemicals. The local environment improves by eliminating the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Bio diversity increases and the farmers can grow a variety of crops on the same field. Additionally, groundwater will not be polluted by chemicals. Lung disease caused by the improper use of pesticides are also avoided. Raw cotton and all production steps are screened by an independent organisation following the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS). Be ahead of your competition: order your apparel made from organic cotton!

FLO

(Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International), is the umbrella organization for Fairtrade.

The award of the Fairtrade seal is subject to a number of criteria. Some of the requirements are: direct trade with the producer groups without intermediaries, pre-financing and a long-term supply relationship as well as achieving certain environmental standards.

The Fairtrade standard is also tied to the payment of a guaranteed minimum price, which reflects accurately the cost of living and true production costs.

The so-called Fairtrade premium; is a social premium paid to enable economic and social development projects in the farmer's villages.

GOTS

(Global Organic Textile Standard) is the biggest standard for organic cotton textiles. It requires GOTS certified organic cotton fabrics a minimum of 95% organic cotton in the finished fabric/apparel. For more information please find at www.global-standard.org

CO2 Reduction

We are concerned with keeping emissions from gases contributing to global warming (CO2) as low as possible. For this reason, our supply chain is designed for short distances: we use Indian cotton. All processing steps (spinning, knitting, dyeing) are within a radius of approx. 40 km of our head office. An exception are our woven textiles (for shirts, etc.) these are woven about 300 km south of our facility. By using organic cotton we also help (due to the absence of pesticides and artificial fertilizers) to gain massive CO2 savings. Pesticides and fertilizers are very energy intensive in their production and can cause even more damage to the environment during their manufacture.
